Dominican Republic Trip

As you are aware, the 2020 DR Mission Trip is unable to move forward as we had all hoped. While we all indeed wish that things were different, the administrative team has concluded that it is most prudent to cancel the trip at this time due to the complications with COVID-19.

We wanted to make you aware of a significant need at Meeting God in Mission. We are saddened to report that Meeting God in Missions has been forced to lay off 16 of their 20 employees (whose average monthly support is $200-400). We would love to bless MGM with some financial assistance during this difficult season. Would you consider speaking with your donors and asking them to give that money to MGM? Every dollar that comes into this account will be sent to MGM. We would love to support this ministry that has meant so much to our CVCA community over the years. CVCA freshmen serve in Northern Philadelphia with the Urban Hope Training Center, a cross-cultural urban training center with a mission “to reach the urban family through children and youth and train believers in cross-cultural ministry.” Urban Hope is about people who are on a mission for Christ. Their desire is to share the Gospel and reach out to the community by teaching, equipping, and developing through the ongoing ministry of the Training Center, as well as through the church they have planted. The week-long trip allows students to be the hands and feet of Christ while hey also bond as a class, creating lasting memories and lessons.

Whether it’s across the street or across the world, the follower of Jesus is called to give of his time, talent, and treasure to those in need. At CVCA we believe that mission trips provide an opportunity to live out our faith outside of the classroom and to love our neighbors as ourselves. CVCA offers mission trips so our students might participate in the joy of serving their Maker by serving others.
